A Message to Our Retail Customers:


After 74 years, since 1935, as the oldest retail tenant of Rockefeller Center, our lease ended in September, 2009.  Because of overwhelming New York rents, it became impossible to continue our retail business.  However, our mail order services to schools, bookstores, libraries, institutions and the general public will continue. The Librairie de France was an independent, third-generation, family-owned bookstore with no financial aid and was a vibrant center of French cultural production.
